Southern Lord is pleased to announce the release of the new recordings from CORROSION OF CONFORMITY‘s legendary Animosity-era lineup featuring drummer Reed Mullin, bassist/vocalist Mike Dean and guitarist Woodroe Weatherman!

The “Your Tomorrow” (Parts 1 & 2) 7″ single includes an exclusive new track and artwork by John Moore all on black 180-gram wax. In addition, Southern Lord will be releasing the first 7″ from RIGHTEOUS FOOL, the new band featuring Mullin, Dean and guitarist Jason Browning.

CORROSION OF CONFORMITY formed in Raleigh, North Carolina by Mullin, Weatherman and Dean in 1982 as a hardcore punk act. The band went through several lineup changes and gradual stylistic shifts from thrash to southern metal before going on hiatus in 2006. The band plans on working on their eighth studio album with guitarist Pepper Keenan in the near future.

Jimmy Eat World To Release Invented On September 28th

September 28th, 2010 marks the release date of Jimmy Eat World’s highly anticipated new album, Invented. Recorded in Tempe, Arizona at the band’s Unit 2 studio, Jimmy Eat World reunited with Mark Trombino, the producer on the band’s breakthrough album, Bleed American, and their seminal earlier albums, Static Prevails and Clarity. “We’re very excited about Invented,” said lead singer and guitarist Jim Adkins, “it was great reconnecting and creating an album with Mark Trombino, we can’t wait for our fans to hear it.” Fans will get their first taste of Invented when the first single “My Best Theory” hits the airwaves in August. Jimmy Eat World has a stellar history across Modern Rock radio with five top 10 hits.

Invented marks the band’s first studio album since 2007′s Chase This Light which landed Jimmy Eat World’s highest chart position of their career at #5 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. Jimmy Eat World’s last release may have been three years ago but they’ve been busy. The boys took a break from the recording of Invented to commemorate the 10-year anniversary of their influential album, Clarity with a sold out national tour.

In addition Jimmy Eat World has confirmed the track list for its new album Invented. The album reunites the band with producer Mark Trombino who worked with the band on their albums Bleed American, Static Prevails, and Clarity. New Filter Video

Platinum rock band Filter premiered the video for their single ‘The Inevitable Relapse’ on Yahoo July 15th.

Directed by Jesus Rodriquez, the video explores a slightly dysfunctional relationship intercut with live footage of the band. “I always wanted to do a video that shows what a healthy addiction looks and feels like, without being some G-rated after school special,” says Richard Patrick. “Enjoy!”

Apocalyptica’s End Of Me Video

Apocalyptica’s new album, 7th Symphony will be released August 24th through Jive Recods. The first single off the album is the song “End of Me” which features lead vocals from Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. The brand new video for the track is being premiered on Vevo.com, view it here.

7th Symphony was produced by Joe Barresi (Coheed and Cambria, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion), and is scheduled for release August 24. The album will feature eight instrumentals plus four tracks with guest vocals including the first single “End Of Me” featuring lead vocals by Bush’s Gavin Rossdale. In addition, producer Howard Benson (Three Days Grace, Creed, My Chemical Romance) returns for production duties on two tracks on the forthcoming album.

The conservatory-trained musicians of Apocalyptica(three of whom are graduates of the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki) started playing Metallica covers in 1993 and in 1996 they released their critically acclaimed debut Apocalyptica Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. But it was 2007′s Worlds Collidethat broke the band into an international phenomenon. The disc featured numerous guest stars. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor appeared on “I’m Not Jesus,” Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia sang on “S.O.S. (Anything But Love),” Rammstein vocalist Till Lindemann performed on a cover of David Bowie and Brian Eno’s “Helden” and Three Days Grace Singer Adam Gontier sang his heart out on “I Don’t Care.” “I Don’t Care” blasted Apocalyptica through the stratosphere, and peaked at number one on the Billboard rock chart. Apocalyptica promoted Worlds Collide with a world tour that included numerous stops in North America.

The Black Crowes Release Croweology

In celebration of the 20th year anniversary of their 1990 debut multi platinum release “Shake Your MoneyMaker,” The Black Crowes will release their first-ever double album of all acoustic material titled, Croweology on August 3rd.

The track, “Jealous Again” is currently featured as Amazon’s Free Song of the Day through Sunday, July 25th. Click here to get the special preview from Croweology.

Croweology was produced by Paul Stacey and recorded at Sunset Sound. The work will feature the bands most well known songs, rarities from their extensive catalogue and selected covers.

The Black Crowes also recently announced their “Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys” Tour which begins on August 12 and will again conclude with the band’s annual five night stand at the Fillmore in San Francisco on December 19th. The extensive tour will see the band perform full three hour sets comprised of both an entire acoustic and electric set. Following the conclusion of “Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys” Tour the band has planned a lengthy hiatus.

Dan Black Returns With All Hearts

Like an artist who paints with sample banks and synthesizers, electro-pop performer DAN BLACK revisits and revises everything that’s right about rock, rap and R&B of the past 30 years. This week, the U.K. music export will return to North America to join Robyn and Kelis on the “All Hearts” tour prior to appearances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. He will also be appearing on JBTV, Chicago’s longest running alternative music TV show, tonight at 11 p.m. CT. His performance of his hit single “Symphonies” can be seen on WJYS 62 Chicago, www.jbtvonline.com or via iTunes podcast.

In addition, the singer/multi-instrumentalist/producer has announced he will release a new single from his debut album ((un)) out now on The Hours. “Alone” will arrive sometime in mid-August as a package including a video from visual collaborator Chic & Artistic, a remix by dubstep pioneer MJ Cole and a brand new b-side track “Liz And Johnny.” Further details will be released at a later date.

Hailing from Great Britain, but currently residing in Paris, France, DAN BLACK came upon the music scene as the vocalist for alt-rockers the Servant. The dance-pop purveyor caught the ears of dance fans with his pop/rock/hip-hop stylings with the songs “Yours,” “HYPNTZ”—his mashup of lyrics from the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Hypnotize” with samples from Rihanna’s “Umbrella”—and ((un))’s breakthrough first single “Symphonies” featuring Kid Cudi which garnered him critical praise in the press, with the New York Post stating, “[Dan Black] will give you that fizzle and sizzle your ears are yearning for.”

Iron Maiden to release, “The Final Frontier”

30 years, 80 million album sales, close to 2000 live performances, countless satisfied customers and now 15 studio albums of unerring quality and power: Iron Maiden have more than earned their proudly-held status as undisputed heavy metal champions of the world.

The bands 15th Studio Record the Final Frontier is due out on August 17th. The directors cut for the video of the “El Dorado Video” off of Maiden’s 15th Studio album “The Final Frontier” can be viewed on IronMaiden.com and on the bands Vevo channel.

The Video was produced by the award-winning production company Darkside Animation Films. Darkside’s creative team includes animators who’ve created effects for feature films including “Lost in Space,” “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down.” The script was written by the director of BBC Radio’s “Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy,” and the live action was co-ordinated and directed by Nick Scott Studios. As well as working round the clock to turn out over three months of animation in eight weeks flat, the Darkside team developed entirely new technology to bring to life as never before Iron Maiden’s mascot, EDDIE, in his new alien incarnation.

A total of 141 shots combined live action with integrated CGI as well as full 3D animation, resulting in a complete running time of five minutes – that’s over seven thousand frames taking up to a half hour to render each frame! Intriguingly, some of the integral footage was shot at Rendlesham Forest in southern England, which is associated with “The Rendlesham Forest Incident”–a series of reported sightings of unexplained lights and alleged landing of a craft of unknown origin.

“The Final Frontier” album, which features 10 tracks listed below, including “El Dorado” (which was released as a free download to great worldwide excitement in June), runs over 76 minutes. Confirmed for release in North America on August 17, the album will be released in a unique Limited Edition, Collector’s “Mission Edition” CD case and will include access to extra bonus content, including the Director’s Cut of this new video, “Mission Debrief” band-interview filmed footage, wallpapers, photos and the exclusive game “Mission II: Rescue & Revenge.” Maiden also, for the first time, are making the album available as an iTunes LP with bonus content as well as the traditional digital format. There will also be a Limited Edition Double Picture Disc on vinyl.

On July 13th, Washington DC-based group Fort Knox Five released a brand new music video “Shift,” featuring Afrika Bambaataa and Mustafa Akbar. The video has been featured on over 100 blogs and websites, including a Spinner Video Premiere and URB Magazine. The YouTube video received almost 5,000 plays in its first week.

The groundbreaking music video for “Shift” is the result of months of work by directors Stu MacKay-Smith and DJ Ball. Combining live action filmed in HD Oakley Red with sharp animation, the production team called in world famous action sports cinematographer Christian Begin to capture Vancouver’s Now or Never B-Boy crew, the Hybrid Movement Parkour crew, and go-go dancers Foxy Moron, Nessa V, and Jina Anika.

Filmed on location in Vancouver, BC, New York, NY, and Washington DC, additional filming was done by Adam MacKay-Smith, Colin Mcgreal and Robin Bell. Graphic designer John Langdon created a special Fort Knox Five ambigram for the video.

Fort Knox Five teamed up with electro-funk innovator Afrika Bambaataa and vocalist Mustafa Akbar to create the song “Shift” during President Obama’s inaugural ceremonies last year. Originally released on Fort Knox Recordings’ 2009 compilation The New Gold Standard 2, “Shift” has been reinvented in both visual and audio form. On July 13th, 2010, the “Shift” music video and remixes were released on iTunes.

Fort Knox Five selected various like-minded musicians from around the globe to perform remix duties. The “Shift” remix single features blazing remixes from Deekline & Dustin Hulton, DJ Dan & Mike Balance, Malente, Sub Swara, and Baymont Bross.
